This amazing amazing night-time event takes place in Dublin Zoo. 

Over a thousand breath-taking, dazzling lanterns will portray a fascinating and important story by shining a light on biodiversity. WIth this tansformation visitors to Dublin zoo will be able to learn more about the Magic of Life and also the role they can play to help our planet.

2. Warm up with a Hot Chocolate

What can be better than enjoying the Christmas festivities in Dublin and enjoying a warm hot chocolate? Well Dublin city centre has many options to choose from!

Butlers, with many locations around the centre is a great choice. Not only will you get an amazing hot chocolate, but you will also receive a free chocolate that you get to choose!

Three Twenty Ice Cream Lab also create an amazing hot chocolate complete with a homemade mashmallow. The risk of spilling this one all over you is high so they offer the cup to you in a bowl, just in case.

3. Dundrum Ice Skating

Take the family or a friend up to Dundrum Ice Skating rink Dundrum On Ice!

The ice rink will be opening once again for people of all ice skating skill levels, with a team of experienced ice marshals, food, beverages, music and an amazing atmosphere!

Dundrum shopping centre is only a short 13-minute ride on the Luas (light rail) from the Charlemont stop right outside our doors.  

4. See a Pantomime 

Grab the kids and take part in a bit of fun for the whole family... a Panto!

Some of the best Pantos coming to Dublin this year include:

  • The Jungle Book @ the Gaiety Theatre
  • Olly Polly & the Beanstalk @ 3Olympia Theatre

As well as other smaller productions around the city.

5. A Pint in a Pub

The Christmas decorations don't stop at the door in Dublin. Most pubs in the Irish capital will give their venues a festive face lift to help bring the festive cheer. Enjoy a pint of famous Guinness or a hot whiskey and soak in the atmosphere and sing a Christmas song or two with all present!
